Coldplay to perform at the MTV Movie awards

It has been announced that Coldplay and the Pussycat Dolls are set to perform at the MTV Movie awards that will take place in California on the 1st June. Coldplay will perform ‘Violet Hill’ which is the first single from their upcoming fourth studio LP ‘Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends’. And the Pussycat Dolls will debut ‘When I Grow Up’ which is the first track from their untitled second album, which is due for release sometime this summer.

This year it is Mike Myers who will be presenting the awards, which will see stars including Zac Efron and Angelina Jolie fight it out for the golden popcorn trophies.

Coldplay’s track ‘Violet Hill’ has already achieved over two million downloads since it was released onto the band’s website on the 29th April.

The MTV Movie Awards as we know always draws the biggest stars in film and this year is already shaping up to be no exception. Van Toffler who is the president of MTV Networks said that “The audience’s favourite movie and music talent combined with Mark Burnett’s uncanny ability to push the envelope and the show being live makes for a concoction sure to set off tons of unexpected water-cooler moments.”
